Another aspect of the book that I liked was the author's use of the second-person point of view. I found that it made me feel as if I was the one enjoying the sense of brotherhood, serenity, and communal life in the ashram. It also encouraged me to relate the author's experiences to what I'd benefit from a trip to the ashram.

A second-person POV can be incredibly powerful if used correctly. And I think a lot of us like the idea of taking a break from the material world and focusing on personal work, peace, and growth.

I thank very much to whoever wrote this book. This book really made me understand how to purify the soul through meditation sessions and thinking about everything around us with a captivating view that makes the heart beat.

I agree with the official reviewer that one might be tempted to think this is a religious text. I almost believed the storyline is about seeking God or any other religious mission, but I'm quite intrigued that the book describes the experiences of three men in Ashram. I shall check it out.

Having read Tom Hillman's Digging for God, I must say that it is a masterpiece. Anyone who wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life will appreciate it. Congratulations on being the book of the day.

I thought it was going to be a book about one finding religion, but from what I gathered from the review, it is basically the author's view on a 3-week men's retreat, where he has some self-reflection and meditation. Something I think we all need every now and again.

Except the challenges you can face when living in ashram, it's also challenge as you must know who you are and what you want or why your there and what brings you there, if you're able to do all the above positively you will survive ashram as it's every man for himself

The book reminds us of the importance of disconnecting from the noise of the world to connect with ourselves through his experience at the ashram he gives us several pieces of advice without imposing them but rather as suggestions based on what he experienced

Thank you for your informational review. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Going away and having peace does sound nice at times, but I don't think I could do it for 3 weeks anytime soon. I'm glad that the editing was done well also. I hope many will enjoy this short and quick book.

This is quite something different to what I normally read, but it sounds very interesting. I think at some point we can all do with a break away, where we just get rid of all our emotional baggage that builds up through the years. As it's the said baggage that sometimes leads to self destruction.
