This looks like a good read. I'll like to know what goes on in the military and also gain more experience from his past life.

Glad you liked it, your review is excellent. Even though it is well written and I don't care about political correctness, memoirs are not my thing. From what I read, it is better than most. Well done!

This sounds like a book my brother would enjoy. The lack of political correctness shows just how honest this man is.

This book sounds great not only for men and women alike. As you point out, there are experiences to which everyone can relate; still, I'm sure that there are experiences to which mostly men and boys relate, and I think that women and girls can also benefit from reading about these. After all, everyone's experiences in life are unique and reading about those whose lives differ from ours help us become more empathetic to their unique situations. As a woman, I do not understand every struggle that a boy goes through growing up and I think reading a book like this would certainly help develop my empathy for more "traditional" men. I'll probably have an issue with the lack of political correctness but, sometimes, you have to be a little politically incorrect in order to accurately portray one's upbringing and emotions. Thank you for the very helpful and insightful review.

An honest and sometimes brutal description of life in the military. This one is not my cup of tea but thanks for the review.

Thanks for the expository review on the book. This book would be nice for growing boys to help them become want they want to be as men in the future.

Thanks for the review. This sounds like a great book to get into the way men feel. I love autobiographies that are something that many people can relate to and this would be one of them!

From the look of things, this is certainly a book lots of men from different backgrounds and various walks of life can relate with. Growing up into a man is definitely not a day's journey. Thanks for this review.

Great review -- very informative! This sounds like an interesting memoir about the author's experiences and life, as well as military career.

I love this story being based out of Texas, and that the military growth is a center point. I truest believe the best route to becoming a man is to join the militart. Congrats on the great review!
