" Of Illusions and Ink Spills" is an artistic aspect of personality of the author. I really like artistic book cover that shows what the content is. I am having fun to read poetry especially a rhyming words and looking the true meaning of the words being used. Sometimes it is hard but it gives a challenging part to think about. True, many poems challenge people's thinking faculty. Some poems can give multiple meanings, depending on circumstances. Some of them need to be researched and some notes given as a form of explanation. Even the title "Of Illustrations and Ink Spilt proves that poetry is deep language.

It is not good being spoon fed always. Read the poem over and over and ask the author to explain certain things.

Good Review And Its Supposed To Be Sung Or Recited

I am more into crime novels than I am poetry, however a few of the titles caught my attention.

Although I like some poetry, I would never seek out a poetry book to read. Because of this, I wanted to read the sample instead of downloading the complete book. I was confused with the lack of pages or poems in the sample and was forced to download the entire book. I'm glad I did. The introduction did not excite me at all, however many of the poems were very good. I do agree that the wording in some of the poems were difficult to understand which made it difficult to read.

You are correct about the conception of the author being a strong-minded individual who does not mince words, say what she pleases and writes whats in the heart. There were a lot of the poems that pulled me into the essence of the author and the need to communicate her thoughts. Sometimes, stepping outside the box, or our comfort zone can lead to some pretty good surprises. This was one of those times. After reading the book and then your review, I have found a greater appreciation for the author and her words.

I love reading poems and I think free-verse poetry is much more likely to allow the poet to express his/her overflow of emotions and feelings. In this case, Divya Hirani's poems may have something special because of the author's strong unique voice you mentioned. Besides, I like desciphering layer after layer of meaning in a poem. I enjoyed reading your review. I agree that all too often, poetic meanings are spoonfed, so different than the old-style or formal poetry. I am interested in the way that she writes, having read your review, as the sample only offered the introduction and something of a Table of Contents. I would have liked to read at least one of her poems in the sample. I wonder if her table of contents does not have the poem names listed for you to reference?
