Yes. I am feeling the potential for Silver as a hero, though he struggles with the questionable morality in his past. I haven't finished the book but don't think he is developing as an anti-hero. I agree. When he was doing the killings, he had been brainwashed into thinking that his boss's orders were correct. But later he started questioning his actions.
