A mix of friendship and a good mystery always makes for a good read.

This sounds like such a great story, and I am a fan of mysteries and crime novels. However, the excessive R-rated profanity would ruin the story for me if I tried to read the book. I can understand the use of some profanity, I just don't know why it has to be such strong language, and so much of it! I guess I will be passing on the book, but thanks for the excellent review! Enjoyed it as always!

It's always impressive when an author can pull off alternating timelines and do it well. Great that this author is skilled at character development, too. Lots of compelling themes, in addition to the suspense. Thanks for the great review, Cecilia!

This sounds like an engaging mystery and thriller, with three protagonists, Phil, Wayne, and Tina, who are friends from childhood, involved in a complicated plot which involves Wayne's brother by the sounds of things. It sounds highly entertaining in both a subtle, indirect manner, as well as a graphically direct manner. I enjoy books with strong characters, and this seems like such a book. Your review was informative and pleasant to read.

Wow, I audibly gasped at the quote in your introduction. I also read the sample and quickly grew attached to the characters and their almost dysfunctional friendship. Wayne sounds like quite the influence, yet I am empathetic toward him and his very problematic home life. I'll be putting this on my want-to-read list for sure. Thanks for this wonderful review!

Phil almost sounds like an enabler for Wayne though I agree he is likable from the word go. Wayne? Not so much. I'm glad that Wayne's character sees development throughout the book. I'm not fond of static character development. As I'm not into crime/mystery novels, I'll probably pass on this one. Thanks for the excellent review!

Despite the one flaw due to the excessive use of R-rated words, the book still sounds enthralling. I am adding it to my shelf. Thanks for the enthralling review.

I liked the premise of this book- what if's.It is very relatable. I imagine the trauma what the kids must have felt and how it refected on their life. It seems really interesting storyline. Too bad there was excessive profanity. Your review is amazing.
