Tolkien - started with The Hobbit and finished with Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales when I was a very obsessed 15 year old. Then went back to the start and read them all again!

You know, I think it was the Brothers Grimm.
Never could get enough, even now.

Definitely would have to be Beverly Cleary, I was young and loved every book of hers I could get my little hands on.

Agatha Christie. The first book I read by Agatha Christie was, And Then There Were None. I fell in love with the characters, the setting, and the overall plot. I went out the following day and bought all of her books my local bookstore carried. I devoured them up, and thankfully, the library carried the rest. To this day, she remains one of my favorite mystery authors.

I read most of the books written by Edward De Bono. Mostly about understanding human thought and lateral thinking. He makes me smarter!!

I first read "The Tell-Tale Heart" in the fourth grade, and I've been hooked on the haunted songs of one of the world's great human paradoxes ever since. Edgar Allan Poe's was the first fiction and poetry collection I owned in its entirety. I devoured every story, licking satirical bits from "The Angel of the Odd," chilling morsels from "William Wilson," and tiny shards of exquisite fantasy from "The Island of the Fay," off my lips when I was finished. Loved it all. Poe was a writer who knew how to write. That's one thing for sure.

Maya Angelou...not so much the poetry but definitely the whole series from "I Know why the Caged Bird Sings" up to the present. Particularly enjoyed the photo book she put out several years ago. It gave a face to her family and friends.

After reading the poem, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," I suddenly felt a need for chocolate... you know... endorphins... sugar... everything in the good stuff that makes you feel up... Maya was a neat one.

I read a ton of book series as a kid, but the first author that I ever really looked up and searched out because I was so fascinated by her stories, was Tamora Pierce. Monumental author! Very prolific.

It is a tie between Terry Brooks and J.K. Rowling for me. I started reading their books around the same time and just couldn't stop.

Jodi Picoult is the first author I had to read everything by! I hadn't read anything by her until I picked up My Sister's Keeper my first year in college. After reading that I got my hand on every book by her that I could. She is such an amazing author. I have been a big fan and will continue to purchase anything written by her.

As a young teenager, it was Francine Pascal and the Sweet Valley High books. As a young adult, it was Danielle Steel, especially her long sagas like Jewels and Zoya. Now, I'm really into Philipa Gregory and Nora Roberts.
