Great review! I have always been creative since I was a child. My father taught me how to draw, and I have been drawing and painting ever since. This book is something that I think I will enjoy.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting graphic novel about the whimsical experiences and creativity that reminds adults of their youth. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This is a wonderful piece of work. I love the concept of figments and do wonder about fairies, etc. The book is written as a non-fiction field journal with fun illustrations on outline only. I think this gives you the option to colour in yourself if you have a hard copy.

The goal of this book is to spark the creativity and imagination we had as children. I think as adults we sometimes lose too much of the wonder and interest in the world around us so this book might help you recover it.

This is a nicely presented concept, complete with a coloring book vibe. I find it very interesting, although not particularly my cup of tea. However, congrats to the author on BOTD.

Thank you for your insightful review of Field Guide to the Figments of Persuasion. Your description of how the book rekindles childhood creativity and imagination is particularly compelling. It's fascinating how Nancy Vallette uses whimsical explanations and familiar terms to bring adult emotions to life, allowing readers to re-experience the wonder they felt as children. The idea of colorless illustrations serving both as a canvas for personal creativity and as a nostalgic element is brilliant. Your mention of re-reading the book to enjoy the images and even considering coloring them in is a testament to its engaging nature. This book seems perfect for anyone looking to break free from a creative block and rediscover their imaginative side. Your review has definitely piqued my interest!

I'm not entirely sure this book is for me. While I do enjoy reminiscing about childhood and those good old days when life was simple and carefree—days filled with play and fun, free from the worries of work or the stresses of adult life—I no longer believe in magical worlds and fairy tales. The sense of euphoria that comes with being a kid is something I have left behind as I’ve grown older.

However, if the author has a way of weaving those childhood experiences into a narrative that helps readers appreciate and enjoy the present moment of adulthood, then I might consider giving it a chance. The idea of reconnecting with those simpler times, while also finding relevance and enjoyment as an adult, is intriguing.

The review is well-written and precise, presenting the book in a very positive light. It captures the essence of the story and highlights its potential appeal. If the book manages to blend the nostalgia of childhood with the complexities and joys of adult life effectively, it could be an interesting read. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.
