That's what grandma used to say!

Yes, I can certainly relate to the escape aspect.

Also, I enjoy the absolute silence that comes with being tucked in bed with a good book. Sometimes people are just so busy and there is so much noise from tv and music and other people. Silence can be so therapeutic.

And the smell of an old book...I will never go digital with all of my books.

I love that a book can go anywhere with you. It's okay to get a little sand on it at the beach. You can't break it like you cell phone or laptop. A book won't electrocute you in the bathtub.

I like reading because it allows you to enter a new world. It gives you the chance to let your imagination out and the sky is the limit on where it can go. Reading is a free, no cost, no risk vacation and you never have to worry about it being booked or sold out!!

I like reading and love reading books in 'actual' and not that much 'online'. I feel that the feel of the book comes when you have the book in your hands,it does not need electricity and you can reference it anytime in just a jiffy.
I like reading as I get to know what the writer was thinking, the mindset, views, observations, sensitivity, understandi ng. In other words I get to know what the writer's personality is. Now,recent or history, what were the influences the writer had and believed.
So many wonderful books out there and only some time to spare daily for them :( this makes me a bit sad but I am up to it and give it priority whenever I have the time.

I love reading books for a number of reasons. The biggest of them is that it's a great way to escape reality (well, when im not reading non-fiction off course).it's a great way to relax and contrary to many movies, books have a great depth and in many cases i think literary stories have more of a realistic feel than say movies.

And also, books doesn't really have a limitation like other media. It's really timeless. It just takes some good imagination and a skillfull author and you're sure to have a great story.

Reading just makes me enter an entirely unknown world created by an unknown person. It helps me experience almost every emotions of life like happiness, tragedy :( , smile :) , laughter  , cry , hope, faith, trouble , satisfaction :P , knowledge.........Its an unending world of imagination that helps your thoughts to get polished, makes your mind fresh and gives your soul a soothing touch....

My love towards reading was restricted to my favorite authors but ow i have started browsing through online stores like A1Books to see their listing of best seller to grab one for myself :)

Happy Reading!!! :o

I use it as my escape. Some people may turn to drugs and alcohol, but I seek refuge in a book. I wouldn't mind drifting off into someone else's life for awhile. I also like that I learn something new with every book that I read. I wouldn't dare let my great mind go to waste. Reading is great as well beneficial!

I read for several reasons; to escape, to relax, to take me back in time, and to learn. :D
