Gabriel Garcia Marquez for the perfect blend of reality, romanticism, with just a touch of magic.

Even though I haven't read these 2 authors for a while I always recommend them, as to my mind their storytelling skill is exceptional and whether people are 'deep' readers or more holiday readers I think they are universally enjoyable - Edith Paregeter and Kazuo Ishiguoro.

Sandra Brown! She never fails to keep me occupied. Also Jodi Picoult is one of my top favorite authors and I can always get lost in her stories

I love Nora Roberts as an author. She has so many amazing books out there and I have yet to read one that I didn't like.

I find myself steering people into urban fiction. I find that authors like Jim Butcher and Kevin Hearne have an appeal that draws in TV generation types and seasoned readers as well. A bit of humor and a conversational style make for friendly reads and, my favorite part, giggling a little while reading in front of others leading to conversation.

I love Margaret Peterson Haddix! She writes great Young Adult books with interesting and unique plots. She has a couple large series and also some stand-alone novels.

Phillipa Greggory & Rick Riordan every time! I love the former's eloquence as she weaves through the most interesting European historic conflicts from the perspectives of a demographic many think were powerless. It makes history more exciting that way. For Riordan, I love that he incorporates a lot of controversial themes into his stories such as homosexuality and racism and manages them in a very commendable manner. Super important for children, I feel.

Beatriz Williams. Her novels include A Hundred Summers and Overseas. They are light, easy, beach reads, but their subject matter is more thought provoking. Her characters are real people that you feel like you could actually meet somewhere in the real world. I've read all her novels and there isn't one that I don't like.

For paranormal fiction and romance, I love Karen Marie Moning's Fever Series, Laurell K Hamilton's Merry Gentry series as well as the Anita Blake series. JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. There are so many I recommend because I enjoyed them so much. For young adult, Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunters are so much fun to read. I love my Zane Grey Westerns, and you can't beat Ray Bradbury for fantasy.
