A Thousand Seeds of Joy: Teachings of Lakshmi and Saraswati by Ananda Karunesh is a non-fiction book. It is the first book in the Ascended Goddesses series. This book gives you an opportunity to learn more about Hinduism.

The story has been narrated in the format of an interview. The author presents to us conversations between the author and Goddesses Lakshmi and Saraswati. The author tries to tell the readers that we should not let any physical crisis get the better of us. Instead, we should find our inner joy.

The book raises various gender-related issues. The book tells us that women should stand up for their rights and prove their true value.

I must start by saying that the author has a brilliant style of writing. The way this book has been narrated makes it very smooth and simple for the readers to understand the various complicated issues discussed in it. Undoubtedly, this is my favourite aspect of this book. Had the writer chosen any other style of narration, this book would have been a disaster.

Let's not question the author if he actually had those conversations with God. The answers that we get to the various issues discussed in this book are enlightening. A lot of these answers shows the similarity between different religions. For example, every religion teaches us about peace, love and joy. In this book too, the goddesses show us the importance of these three virtues. This gives us a reminder that every religion teaches us the same things.

The author has also provided endnotes at the end of the book, which helps the readers to understand the various myths and terms used in the book.

The story is divided into seven parts which are further divided into thirty-three chapters. The book tells us about different ways in which we can find happiness. After reading this book, you might have a different outlook for a lot of things in life. Having said all this, I must mention that the issues mentioned in this book are complicated and it requires a lot of attention on the readers part to get a hang of the plot. This is definitely not a light read. I'll rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I didn't find any errors in the book and it seems to have been professionally edited. The book was flawless and I couldn't find anything that I could dislike in it. I suggest this book to people who love reading about religious matters. I should also mention that only open-minded people should read this book because there are many things that the book tells, which could be against the personal beliefs of many people which could distract them.

Religion fascinates me as a study. I have been reading various myths for over 35 years. This sounds like something I would very much enjoy, especially with a brilliant style of writing.
