Review by Hawaii Five O -- One Way or Another
One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams was interesting without reason, its about these four sisters though only related through their mother are closer than anyone would ever know or understand. Sticking together makes them stronger than their enemy, they expect everything can happen good or bad, when or where didn't matter they faced everything headed their way together. These four women had rough lives, complicated, difficult, but stubborn, strong willed and brave women who learned not to follow their parents and be their own independent person. They were tested by men that cared only about money, to use them to their own advantages, take their money and hurt them in many ways. These four girls were tested by men they knew, but each one of the sisters was smart, very smart, no man they met ever wanted just them but only their money. Will these four sisters be strong enough together to stop men that have no love from tearing their family apart or will they need backup to stand against them and protect their family? Or will they lose each other?
This novel is for young adults and about four young sisters who fight for each other together. It has curse words, some inappropriate and some deserving. The novel caught my attention immediately and I loved every part of it. Though probably not so many curse words but the way those sisters lived , what they did for others and protective of their mother when they knew something was up is amazing. Though their fathers were jerks when they should have been fathers to their beautiful, amazing and thoughtful daughters, it shows how rough life was and still is for them even when they grew up into young women. These sisters were use to being taken advantage of because of their money and beauty. they could kick if needed and stand their ground just like anyone else. This shows how life is for some out there. They learned not to fall for a lot of simple and hurtful things that could happen, to not give on so easily, to say when enough is enough and stand up for themselves and others in need. I would recommend other young adults to definitely read this if they want.
The vocabulary was very good, the cuss words were ok, but the novel would be very good without them or as many of them I think. This novel makes the reader want to know more, challenges the reader that everyone has their ups and downs, life is perfect or what it can seem to be, be prepared for what may come toward you, for you or at you. Life throws you curveballs and whether you're ready or not it will come so prepare for anything and everything.
Its exciting and interesting to read about how they dealt with their life and everyone around them, always doing their best to do right in the world of New York City. This novel was great that I rate Williams novel 4 out of 4 stars.
