Agenda of Blood, by James Beam, takes place primarily in the small town of Rosegrant, Oregon. Terrible things have recently occurred there. Three girls were possessed and murdered many people. One girl even killed her own boyfriend. People also keep going missing, and a nearby Satanic cult is suspected. James C. Allenton is an author specializing in horror novels. He decides to go to Rosegrant to do some research for a new book and soon finds himself in over his head.

What I liked most about this book is how scary it was. Books about demonic possession have the potential to be cheesy, especially if you don't believe in that sort of thing (and I don't.) But certain scenes were written so well. It was super graphic at times, but I can't remember the last time a book creeped me out. I was reading it during a storm, and the lights started flickering, and I was ready to run out of my house!

One thing I really disliked was how the dialogue was written. It was a lot of back and forth. A straightforward conversation went on for pages. To be fair, it was realistic to how an actual conversation might go. But, it wasn't an effective writing strategy. It was extremely tedious to read.

Unfortunately, this book was also full of errors. So many errors that it was distracting. There were missing apostrophes and apostrophes where they shouldn't be. Words were misspelled and incorrect punctuation was used. The worst part for me was commas in really weird places in sentences. It made the book confusing. I had to go back and reread quite a bit. It clearly wasn't professionally edited.

This book was written for an adult audience. Children and teenagers should stay far, far away from it. There were tons of foul language, murder, gruesome violence, human torture and sacrifice, and graphic sex scenes. Also, it was just plain scary. Since it has to do with demonic possession and witchcraft, very religious people could potentially be offended by it as well. This book would be a good fit for readers with thick skin that like to be scared.

I would rate Agenda of Blood 2 out of 4 stars, though it would really be more like a 2.5. I can't give it a 3 or 4 due to all the errors. They made it difficult to read. Also, the ending made me so angry. It was very abrupt and left me with so many questions. It was unsatisfying. However, I wouldn't give it any lower because I liked how scary it was, and I did want to keep reading to find out what happened to the characters. I just didn't get to find out.

Agenda of Blood has the potential to be great if it undergoes a round of editing. But if you think you can get past the errors and are looking for a good scare, give it a try!

Your review is good and quite funny. The lighting almost made you run out of the house? Then this book is really creepy. In as much as I love horror, I don't think I can cope with this type,I rather pass it on.

First of all, I really enjoyed reading your review. I like that the book was very scary. I love horror but the errors you mentioned are a major discouragement... Except it gets that professional editing then I'm game. Nice review

A horror story focused on being scary can be acceptable, so it looks interesting despite the flaws you pointed out, also because I don't mind "gory" elements in horror stories. Thank you for your honest review!
Ciao :)

I do like the horror genre. But when reading the review, I know I don't really like the demonic types of books. But your review is well written!

A book for the lovers of horror. For me, I'll skip pass this one and try another book. Thanks for the descriptive review.
