The main reason I choose to read Strong Heart written by Charlie Sheldon was the description. It sounded like it was packed full of action, adventure, and a touch of warm hearted moments. I did not care for the profanity but it wasn't enough to change the way I felt about the book. I am giving Strong Heart a star rating of 4 out of 4. I felt it was a good read, kept me engaged and entertained. At times I didn't want to put it down, but my dream catchers don't make themselves. LOL

I recommend this book to people who are interested in action, adventure, mystery, and Native American legends. Sounds like a lot for one book but this book, definitely has it! Reading Strong Heart gave me a sense of pride. It helped me better understand the pride Tom and his friends had and why Tom desperately needed to make that trip up to Olympic National Park. Of course, the courage and strength that Sarah showed can't go unmentioned. By the end of the book you will know how Sarah truly earned the name "Strong Heart".

Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldonis about a man named Tom, his friend William, Williams' daughter Myra, and Sarah the granddaughter that Tom didn't know existed. It begins Tom, William, and Myra are getting prepared to head out on a backpacking trip when there was an unexpected knock on the door. It is Tom's ex-wife, dropping off his 13 year old granddaughter that he had never heard about, off at his doorsteps and leaving. Sarah had been shuffled around a few times since the passing of her mother and according to her grandmother a problem child.

Tom reluctantly takes Sarah hiking with them. As they embark on their adventure of a lifetime, they will experience and see things that are both frightening and magical. Along the way Sarah goes missing on their journey. Tom with determination and the help of his friends finds Sarah 8 days later. Sarah returns with a story, some may say magical others may say a legend. Through all of this, all of their relationships grow stronger and flourish more than any of them thought possible.

I liked that Sarah was the only one that saw the bear. Knowing they didn't believe her she knew what she saw and for some unknown reason, knew he was trying to show her something, just didn't know what yet. I was a bit confused when Sarah began telling her story. I had to stop and reread the section before to make sure I didn't miss something. I didn't care for the transition there. As far as the ending of the book, I disliked it the most. Too many unanswered questions. I was definitely disappointed.
