Sugar And Spiceby H. M. Irwing
Catherine Little has an IQ level of a genius at a very young age. At the age of two, She is reading books meant for older people. She does not believe in bedtime stories. She has a twin sister, Emily. As they grow older, their differences in their lifestyles is visible. Cat is a bookworm while Emily is a popular girl bent on her looks more than her books. Cat is determined to be a doctor. She graduates from high school at the young age of sixteen, having finished twelve years of education in ten years. Things however do not go as planned as she meets a stranger on a party for the graduates. She foolishly, against her rules and norm, loses her virginity to the stranger without knowing him first. She gets pregnant and later on finds out he is a prince from Saudi Arabia. Here is the twist though; according to muslim traditions in Saudi Arabia, Sadiq, the prince, will marry a girl chosen by her parents. He does not want that however. This leads to him abducting Cat to go and wed her against her wishes in Saudi Arabia. After a series of events within a few days, Sadiq weds Cat as his second wife and she divorces him the next day and frees the country. Please read the book to get to know what happens next. This book is full of twists which would thrill you to continue reading to know more.
I liked most the part when Sadiq did not give up on Cat. Even after Cat numerously roke up with him, he still gave her space but was still there for her. I also loved it when Cat gave birth to twins, Sadiq's children. I also loved it how the whole family was there for each other when faced with problems. I least liked the part where Afsoon tricked her father into marrying Sadiq. I also hated it when Sadiq forced Cat into marrying him, transforming her religion and not caring about her thinking that women were born to serve men.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 It is well written with a good plot. The author should focus on details instead of writing briefly and leaving the reader to fill in for themselves. However, I loved the book.
The most appropriate audience for this book is readers above the age of sixteen. It has some instances of profane language and erotic scenes that would really upst readers below the age of sixteen.
I really loved reading the book. It has a great plot that makes you want to continue reading. It however disappoints as the author just writes briefly about the story. It leaves the reader not as thrilled about the book as expected. The book contained a few typing errors that would have been avoided and can be corrected.
