And the mountains echoed

Post by hafsa »

Finished reading 'And the mountains echoed'. Not very impressed. Didn't find anything extraordinary about this "renowned" writer. And Another thing which wrapped me throughout the novel was the complete absence of US war. Funny really. Just the Russians and then Talibans. I would expect a flash of inner Pashtun, but was disappointed at the truancy of a huge part of Afghan history. And this lead to a confusion in which the Talibans were fighting; but whom? Their fellow countrymen?
