BRUNO and HUNO is a thoughtful children's book written by Rodney D Koch. It is a story about two brothers and how they come to terms with the sad realities of life. This book teaches children about one of the most unfortunate facts in life; death.

Bruno and Huno are two bears who live happily with their Ma, Pa, and sister on top of Buck Ridge. They have a fun-filled and happy life. Their Pa teaches them how to hunt, and Ma teaches them how to cook. One day Pa and their sister Winona suddenly fall sick and cannot move out of bed. Soon they pass away, and Bruno and Huno are without a father and sister. Their mother helps them to share their grief and move on with their lives.

This book is unique and unusual. The author has done a commendable job explaining a sensitive subject most gently. In the story, the brothers have to face the loss of their father. That is a hard emotion to bear, but it's also inevitable. The book tells us how we have to accept death as a part of life and learn to withstand the pain and loss that it brings. This book has a kind and soft way of helping children get over the loss of a loved one.

There is nothing that I dislike about this book. The book teaches family values like working together, helping and supporting each other. It also teaches us to focus on the task at hand to get it right. The book tells us that it is ok to cry and encourages children to express and share their grief to get over difficult times.

This book is well-written and professionally edited. The illustrations are detailed, colorful, and complement the story. I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book is ideal for children of ages 5-8years. It can also be read aloud to preschool children

You’re absolutely right when you say that this book is unusual. It has a grim feel to it, but at the same time, I think it’s important for everyone(even children) to come to terms with harsh realities of life.

I really enjoyed this review. Thank you.

Death is such an important topic to speak to children about and help them understand, and this book is a great way to do that. A well-written great review!

A book that teaches kids about death. Wow, that's really unusual indeed. Great review!

A wonderful story I must say. Death is inevitable and no matter what happens we can not stop it from happening. I'm glad there's a book to help children understand what death is about. Thanks.

This is a needed topic in children's books, as sad as that is to say. Death is something we will all have to deal with eventually in one way or another. I appreciate the sensitive and gentle way in which the author handled the subject. Wonderful review!

This is definitely a book that is needed. Too often children don't have the right resources to deal with grief. Adults tend to think the children will be fine, possibly because they think they are too young to feel the weight of the loss. Thank you for a wonderfully touching review.

Lol I remember when we were kids, we obviously knew nothing about. I remember losing my aunt at that stage but yet I didnt really understand it all. Guess I was a kid at the time. Well this is a great book for kids, learning how to deal with it at that early stage is not such a bad idea. By the way thanks for review!
