Review by Kanda_theGreat -- Cat Detectives in the Korean...
Mom has great news. She has been appointed to act as a judge in an international cheese competition. Better still, Inca and her siblings' traveling documents are all in order and they can join Missy, their mom, on her journey. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is the eighth book in the Inca series. Inca is excited about meeting other members of her cat family, whom she has only heard about.
Mom and Fromage have created a special cheese, which they hope to present during the competitions. This publicity is going to increase mum's sales and boost her reputation as one of the greatest chefs. However, someone does not want mom to succeed. How will Inca and her friends help her? What new adventure lay in store for them at the Korean Peninsula? What will their mission in Korea be?
Kristi's creativity is vividly evident in this book. The use French vocabulary during the kittens' dialogue added a synthetic beauty to the book and gave it a sense of originality. The author translated each foreign dialect and this assisted in my comprehension of the conversations. There is nothing that I did not like about this book.
There is also the use of onomatopoeia. This stylistic device complimented the narrative's presentation and flow of the story by relevantly heightening the reader's mood. I was further endeared to the characters and understood their feelings. I also commend the use of illustrations in the book. For a significantly longer children's book, the presence of illustrations provided necessary breaks, which would help in maintaining a child's attention as he/she reads.
There is evidently zero grammatical errors in the book and I can confidently affirm that it was edited professionally. This amazing book warrants a maximum rating of four out of four stars. Children between the ages of eight to ten years are going to enjoy this episode of Inca's adventure.
