Review: Confessions of a Hostie-Danielle Hugh

Post by arnaleigh »

I've always had a fascination with planes, particularly the people who work on them everyday. So when this book was available as book of the week in my smartphone I jumped at the chance to read it.

Danielle Hugh has worked as an international air hostess for over 20 years and this book contains her memoirs on recent trips and events in her life. She gets to travel to beautiful exotic locations around the world on a weekly basis with the added bonus of spending a few days in the stunning destination.

Due to my high interest in this topic my expectations were also high. This book has plenty of funny moments and it was interesting to see how flight attendants really lived their lives; and it was not as glamorous as what you might first think!
I would of enjoyed the book so much more if she said more about the destination she was in and not just about the closest shopping mall. Danielle has a passion for shopping so a big part of the book is talking about her shopping trips rather than things unique to her location.

This book is a great insight into a different world as well as being a light wonderful read.

I give 3.5 stars
