Jillian Christie Series by Monica Owens

In February 2012 Amazon was offering "Me...and My Sister's Wedding", the 2nd book in the Jillian Christie Series for free. I "bought" it and read it in a couple of hours. I quickly bought the 1st book in the series "Me...and My High School Reunion". Both are self published books and while I know I won't be seeing them on best sellers lists, I feel like they are worth a read.

Monica Owen's tells the story of Jillian Christie, a boring accountant at a funeral home living a simple life in Chicago....or so she thinks. She has no idea that most of her family and even her employer have mob ties and that even her ex-boyfriends were mobsters. Once she finds out, thanks to her most recent mobster boyfriend, Dominic, she ends up in the middle of crazy gang wars, kidnappings, shootings and bombings. And of course she never stays put when everyone tells her to stay out of the way.

Yesterday I bought "Me...and my Brother's Secret Life". While I enjoyed reading another chapter in the life of Jillian and Dominic, I was disappointed in the lack of steam between the characters. I'm hoping I won't have to wait a year for book 4.
