For thirteen seconds,
We sat by the lake,
Tired and quiet,
Listening to our favorite playlist,
Watching the sunrise seize the sky.
Thirteen seconds,
Before we were at war with each other,
again.
My demons are good company,
Only when the sky looks pretty.
