The Raven's Trail (Book 1) Liz D. Marx. I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. The book was plenty enjoyable but there were instances that the author used too many words to describe situations and there need not be.

The book depicts a love story between two characters and rebirth. Its setting starts in prehistoric America but built up and concluded in modern times. The main characters who had lost touch are united again to rediscover the roots of their fallen tribe in an effort to create an awareness of its existence. Despite the challenges the characters met they were able to establish relationships that offered them support in their quest.

The book format can be changed from centered to justified for a more polished and pleasing look. Also considering the setting is in prehistoric and modern times, the prehistoric narration can be italicized to show the reader that the writer is taking them back in time and this will also reduce the chapters numbers as that part of the narration will be placed under the modern/current times narration since it offers an explanation on the characters actions and thoughts.

On spelling and grammar, the use of gods should be put in small caps where the word is capitalized and other words have been capitalized and they need not be I however note that this could be the writer's style.

This book will appeal to young adults with an interest in romance as a genre. It does not have explicit writings that would require monitoring by adults. It is an informative book as it shares with the readers the American culture and where they can access information on American history.
