[Me Inside by Martha Miller] is a thriller along with family drama and a bit of romance here and there. The book's main character Jeannie Baker is an adolescent who was abandoned by her mother at a very young age as soon as her father had come out of the prison. So Jeannie never experienced what a traditional family looks like and had the fortune of not having love of both of her parents while she was growing up.

I feel like when reading the book, the readers will feel connected to the story and imagination might lead them to picturise what has been written on the paper as the narration keeps one perfectly hooked and you might end up reading it cover to cover in one sitting. It has perfectly blended pinch of emotional insecurity, thrill, family drama and struggles of being a teenager that ruined the girls childhood because of what her parents did.

Without giving too much away from the book, I would like to add that this book is a journey of a girl who faces hardships from a very young age and as soon as she settles down with the situation something unusual always awaits her and she ends up realising love, hate, anger, insecurity at a very young age. The book also beautifully tries to describe what a homosexual relationship feels like and how the society labels them and sets a preconceived notion in heads of most of us.From bank robbery, murders, fear and anxiety this book covers the internal journey of a girl who is bold and beautiful. This one is a must read for someone who is a fan of thrillers and family dramas.

3 out of 4 stars from my side for this read
