Self-Help and Inspirational Stories

Post by LadyErynn10 »

So I have this really great idea for an inspirational/self-help type of book, and I was wondering if anyone still reads those. So far, I've only written about six pages of the first draft.

If you do read them or have read one lately, what made you like it/dislike it the most? Was it memorable? Why or Why not?
Has anyone written a book like this before? What things should I include and/or avoid?

Thank you!
E.

I like to read self help books. What I look for in a book of this type is original and different. All depends the topic, but some self help books may repeat themselves. A big turn off for me is copy and pasting (very obvious) from others books. I recently read a self help that did this in the book. What makes a self help memorable is something different and a book I can keep as a reference. I like to make notes and bookmark in a great book. Hope this helps and good luck!

Self Help books have a HUGE market. People have things they want to do. They seek wants to do them. They seek ways to be inspired to do them. They buy self help books.
