Review by tawongaL -- We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko
We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko by Matthew Tysz is the second book in the series called ‘We are Voulhire.’ In the world today, we see scientist and theologists never truly understanding each others' ideologies. Needless to say, the two sets of people rarely seem to agree on anything, yet in this book, we come to discover the silver lining that makes the biggest difference of all!
Being the second book of the series, we are introduced to the power of magic, and its row in the story. We see how different people of different ideologies interact and find a way to blend into each others’ lives. Using this angle, the author makes the relationship of three characters to be one of the most comical and interesting friendship I have ever seen, since each of the men has a unique belief system of his own.
I have never seen politics, science and theology entwine like in this book. The author brought to light how far any person can go, in the extremities of their actions, for what they believe in. I learnt more from the characters’ way of thinking than words can express. Henceforth, I would like to say that this is what I loved most about the whole book.
I love a book with good grammar because it keeps the flow of the reading so smooth. We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko is a book with impeccable grammar written so beautifully by the author and polished extremely well by the editors. The words come to life as you read. The punctuation helps you understand the exact mood of the character in each moment and adds some funk into the events.
Truthfully, I wanted to find at least one thing that was wrong with the book, but Matthew Tysz swept me off my feet again! The plot of the story was genius, the characters were so lively, they felt real! I would be lying if I said, l disliked anything in the book. Even though I am a romance novel lover at heart, Matthew Tysz has won me over to the fantasy fan club with this book. Because it had no grammatical mistakes, but an immaculate story and finally, the great editing, I have been convinced to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone with an open mind and loves fantasy novels. Keep an open mind as you read, and your eyes will allow you to see the beauty in the story. Go pick up this book and escape your mundane reality into the world of Voulhire.
