To rebuild after a loss has transpired in your life is not easy. The path to healing is the road no one has a formula for, not really that is, however with a little help from others one can learn how to navigate.

Living Forward after Loss by Kathleen Ho is the perfect example of a resource one can use in the process of healing. After losing her life partner of ten years David, Kathleen Ho used that life experience to write a book to help others.

Healing does not happen overnight it never does that is something I knew before going into this book, yet I didn't understand how to process or even accept that.

You feel guilty for still being stuck in the pain. Then you feel guilty for healing too quickly. What a trip!

Kathleen Ho writes this book with the compassion and understanding that one only gets from experience. Her pain and healing are palpable through the pages.

Living Forward after Loss is truly about Rebuilding your life after losing your life partner as the book describes, and so much more. This can help people heal from a loss in general.

With topics like "Giving a Voice to Sorrow", which handles how as a person who is grieving you are allowed to give that sorrow a voice through techniques like journaling.

"Be Ready for Triggers" is my favorite topic, because after losing my father my mother and I went had a lot of triggers from walking around the house that year after his passing.

It made me realize how normal all of that was. Going through it is healthy, avoidance is not.

I found it so refreshing the number of tangible resources available throughout this book. Turn to page 80 and you will find a resource on how to be sensitive towards others who are grieving. "The Ten Best and Worst Things to Say to Grieving People", check it out.

The most profound lesson learned?
For me it has to be is about knowing or appreciating that different people grieve in different ways.

As such with all of that taken into consideration I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. I honestly love it when I learn something new.

So yes I advise anyone out there who is looking for a book that will uplift one during a time of need to get it as soon as possible. It is a worthy purchase.
