The Fugitive by David Griffith is a story revolving around Lonnie Bowers an undercover agent that rubbed shoulders with drug and human traffickers. He leaves the city for a remote land in the wilderness but apparently it is not far enough from an enemy he created while in his line of duty. He's shot on his field, escapes death and his estranged brother saves his life but is later killed. Bowers becomes a prime suspect in 2 murder cases, something that he's never experienced. He runs from his own home in search of the man that would move mountains just to have him silenced. His main purpose being to have a 'conversation' with him.

David Griffith brings out various themes including religion, crime, law enforcement, forgiveness and punishment. Lonnie's wife,Clarissa is portrayed as a Christian that tries to pass the good news as much as she can. Lonnie however is not sure of what he believes in but he is seen debating between good and bad and eventually doing the right thing. He trusts his 'sixth' sense that has more than once saved his life. His children are aware that punishment is eminent yet Lonnie seems to know when and when not to punish them. Lonnie's estranged brother seeks forgiveness for his wrong doings but unfortunately deaths beats him to it.

I have enjoyed reading this book especially the near death experiences that Lonnie faces, the suspense it creates and how a 'guardian angel' comes in just on time. He's portrayed as a 'superhero' that even death cannot touch, his morals being extremely upright yet he still does not believe in any religion. The novel is written in a way that criticizes friendship and neighborhood since Lonnie has only one friend that is his former boss. His closest neighbour turns out to be an enemy. David Griffith seems to pass the message not trust anyone but yourself.

I did not find any error that interfered with my reading. I would recommended this books to young adults that like crime scenes and action. I rate this book as 4 out of 4.
