Review by Elendu Clement -- Waves Break (on Unknown Shores)
Waves break (on Unknown Shores) by Barry Litherland is a book that teaches you about; Friendship, loyalty, and above all being humane. Wayne, Phil, Stevie and Tina, are best of friends. Though Wayne has a bad Family background, his friends don't give up on him. However, things take a quick turn when one of their friends is murdered.
Tyrone, Wayne's evil brother is out of prison and rumour has it that he's up to something evil with George Mackie. Mr Oldfield was beaten into a coma by a burglar who broke into his office. All evidence point to Wayne as the culprit. Phil and Tina believe that their friend can't harm Tina's father, Mr Oldfield. Things get worse when Phil is threatened by George Mackie, he wants Phil to persuade his friend, Wayne to return a package that was stolen from Mr Oldfield. But George is not the only one after the package, a lot of people are after the same package. Who would have burgled Mr Oldfield's office? What could the package be that everyone is after? How is Wayne related to the package? What prompted the death of Stevie and who killed him? Grab a copy of this book to find out.
I just read one of the best crime thriller books on the internet. The book took my attention from everything else I was doing. The suspense was incredible. The characters in this novel were well developed. The author did a very good job of creating much suspense. Though the major suspense was that I was very eager to know how Stevie died and what was so special about the package. I liked a lot of scene in this book, my favourite scene was when Studley-Brown met Phil the second time and Simon Walsh was there with him, I liked the way Simon Walsh composed and hid his fear
The only thing I disliked about the book was its format of download, I think a PDF format would have been better. This format made it look cumbersome for readers. Aside from that, the author did everything else right. He brought in suspense right from the beginning of the novel to the end. He also painted a vivid picture in the mind of his readers. The scenes were also well developed. I think this book would be ideal for a movie adaptation. The level of trust, loyalty and compassion showed in this novel is what friends should look to emulate. Though Slattery was kinda mean, I liked the way he did his job. I also admired Simon Walsh ambitious life.
I'm rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found no error in this book. This shows that it was exceptionally well edited. I loved how the book ended. It left the readers with something to think about, and it also paved the way for the production of a sequel to the book. I recommend this book to lovers of book associated with crime and mystery.
