We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is the first of this great series. The Emperor of Lullabies made the Lands of Princes a place where one must die. It was either death by the sword or slow starvation. He succeeded in making his sons fight each other. Making the kingdom unbearable for its natives.

After a questionable overthrow of Lord Orlin, by Meldorath. King Wilhelm is forced to make Meldorath lord of Hillport. However, Meldorath evil deeds catch up with him when King Wilhelm orders his arrest. After his arrest, no one hears about him again. Some assume his dead, while others believe that he is locked in a very far place. Galen's joy knew no bounds when he learnt that his grand-uncle who stays in Voulhire reached out to him. He wanted him to be his successor and take over his business. Galen didn't meet his uncle because of death. He is left to adjust alone.

The author had my attention from the first scene of the book. He created no room for boredom. I couldn't help but wonder if the allegations on Orlin were true. As a big fan of epic adventure; my best scene was the first scene. It was action-filled. The author took time in developing his characters. The names of the characters in this book are unique and well thought out. I also liked the fact there was a map at the beginning of the book to aid the readers to understand the kingdom better. I think this book would be nice if replicated as a movie.

There is nothing much to dislike about the book. The only thing I disliked about the book was that it lacked a strong female character. I hope to see that in the upcoming series. The author made me visualize what I read. I was expecting that Meldorath would put up a fight when he was arrested. I also expect to read more on the Lands of the Princes in the upcoming series. The author took his time in researching before writing this book. This is one of the best epic fantasies on the internet today.

I'm rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found no error in the book. This shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. The book contained minor profanity. I can't wait to read the next proposed series of this great sequel. I recommend this book to people who love epic fantasy novels.
