Matthew Tysz was able to synergise history, science and magic in this well written novel. We are Voulhire - A New Arrival under Great Skies focuses on the voyage of a boy named Galen Bay to the land of Voulhire through share luck, grace and destiny. His upbringing and experiences in the war-torn Land of the Princes, formed his innocent nature. Thereby making him to learn and understand other dimensions of human relationships and behaviours among the Voulhirians. He was able to understand that people have various ambitions (either good or bad) which is majorly the motive behind their complex nature.

The novel got me emotional and resentful at the attack, destruction of Hillport, and worst of the death of Lord Eldus Alderman. I never thought his good plans and aspirations would end abruptly by the dreaded Lord. Lord Meldorath was feared by all due to his magical powers, even the king of Voulhire, Wilhelm, has his reservations about him. But probably, the old man who latter got his freedom might be the doom of Lord Meldorath.

The flow and continuity of each scenarios and activities in each city from Soulhire, Magnum Caelum, Hillport, and others are commendable. Starting from the display of power and magic by the much dreaded Lord Meldorath in the prologue to the self liberation of the old man (who is also a mage) from his cell in the last scene, the continuity was not lost.

The writter, Matthew Tysz, has left us on suspense about the concluding part of the story. Thus I expect the second part to be published as soon as possible. Though I could assume what would happen between Lord Meldorath and the self liberated old man, but how it would happen is what I am athirst of. Furthermore, I hope my curious feelings about the genuine mission of Galen Bray, the next act of Wilhelm and other cities would be satisfied in the concluding part.

I have no reservations for the book. It is well written and edited, therefore I found no vulgar word or typo error in it. I would rate it 4 out of 4 star , and recommend it to readers from the age of 15 years who love history, suspense and display of magical powers.
