Ark of the Apocalypse by Tobin Marks is a sci-fi fantasy novel based on the past and the future. Throughout the story, you follow the journey of several individuals juggling what life has forced upon them. Through the generations of these families, you witness how time has changed Earth. Due to these changes, drastic measures by the various presidents are reaping enormous consequences. Consequences that no one could foresee, besides no other than the Yanbeyev family.

The Yanbeyev family is a family of astonishing doctors. They are a family made out of generations of doctors who passed down their genius in medicine. Over various generations, their small Russian clinic had grown substantially and begun treating patients from all over Russia. Not only was their brilliance in the medical field passed down but, so was their uncanny knowledge of the future. Utilizing their powers that they referred to as the Path, the Yanbeyev family plans to use it to their advantage and one day be rulers. They might be the only family who can see the future but, they won't be the only family who shapes it.

During World War II, a Japanese scientist, also known as Dr.Mizushima, created a device like no other. Aito, the grandson of Dr. Mizushima, witnessed the creation of this device. Before he had a chance to do anything with the invention, it was too late and, a bombing took place where Aito, his grandparents, and the gadget resided. In an attempt to protect his prized possession, he stayed behind and urged his wife and grandson to get to safety. When the disaster had passed Aito, and his grandmother realized that he failed to make it to safety as well. During the aftermath of the bombing, Aito discovered that something from his grandpa's lab had survived. Making the most out of what he could in his era, Aito then passed down this family secret to his grandson, who would go on to evolve humanity as no one else could.

Generations later, Earth is on its lasts legs, and it's a race against nature to find another suitable home for humanity. An ark ship named the Magellan II is hastily in the process of being made and prepared to embark on a journey to humankind's new home. Once landed on the new planet, the lucky few who were allowed on the ship face dangers they never knew were possible.

Ark of the Apocalypse is a magnificent read filled with grueling adventures and never-ending twists of fate. The descriptions of the characters and their surroundings are very vivid. This vividness makes it easy to form mental images that enhance the enjoyability of the read. Ark of the Apocalypse has many positive aspects including, the unbreakable bonds shared between families throughout multiple generations. I have no negative input about this fantastic novel. I recommend Ark of the Apocalypse to space lovers who love a boundless thrill in a slow-paced fashion.

Ark of the Apocalypse earned a 4 out of 4 from me. This novel earned this rating because, during my read, the plot was able to keep me captivated and wondering what could happen next. I found no grammatical errors to distract me from reading.
