Are you a cat lover? Or have you read other books of Mister Pushkin? Or, have you wondered about cats’ inner feelings about humans? If the answer is yes, pick Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf, the second book in AC Michael’s Tales Of Mister Pushkin series, without further ado.

Mister Pushkin is a Russian Blue cat with exceptional feline powers. His owner Klem is a doting cat parent who understands and respects the uniqueness of his feline overlord. Much like the first book, Mister Pushkin’s love affair with salmon, milk, and naps continues. Only his powers and level of adventures have increased. He saves quite a few lives, teaches an unforgettable lesson to a flotilla of mallards, and as usual, compensates Klem with great rewards after causing trouble.

This book has twelve short stories that are set in autumn. So, the stories revolve around Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the usual hullabaloo associated with the wintriness of the autumn season. Readers can read this book as a standalone without any worries. But if you are familiar with the first book, then you will have even more fun. For example, Mister Pushkin and Ruth’s encounter reveals a lot of hidden details if you already know about their fondness for each other! My recommendation would be to start with the first book to understand Mister Pushkin better.

The best part of this book is, seeing our daily routine life through the cat’s eyes. Since Mister Pushkin remains the main focal point throughout the book, you get to understand the cat’s POV about things like cat shows and computer mouses.

I have no complaints against this children’s book. There are no profanities or sexual content. Also, I did not find any errors; so, this book is sufficiently well-edited. Considering all these reasons, I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

Words like extrasensory perception, incarceration might turn the reading experience difficult for younger kids. Incidents related to Dolores, the flurry squirrel in Emma’s home, and Emma’s faux fur is too dark for toddlers. For these reasons, I will recommend this book to kids who are above age 8. If you are an animal-loving adult, then definitely don’t miss this book. Have fun with this joy bundle of Mister Pushkin’s adventurous tales.
