When I first read the title of this book I expected to discover all the secrets that businesses have been hiding from the general public. My expectation was to a certain extent correct. Fouling in Business and College Athletics is a book that seeks to compare the ill practices in businesses and college athletics. The author, Gonzalo Fernandez, provides us with an informative and first-hand experience of all the fouls relating to businesses and he effectively compares it with the fouls of college athletics. He believes that the respective industries have breach many ethical and legal violations and as such they must be exposed.

What I like most about this book is that it has the ability to change the reader’s perception of college athletics and business. I also appreciate the fact that the author conducted proper and effective research to provide the readers with what is happening behind the scenes. It is very insightful in this respect. Furthermore, the book is flawlessly edited as well and there was overall a good structure so it was easy to follow along.

However, what I didn’t like is the fact that there is some sort of prejudice to the institutions mentioned in the book. While the author felt that it was necessary to reveal all the scams in the business and college world, I feel like he should have been a little more cognizant in his mentioning of the institutions and it was a little bit harsh.

I would give this book 4 out 4 stars. It gives readers a very detailed account of both the business world and college athletics. To this extent, the book can also be used as an effective tool for research but at the same time there is a captivating storyline that wants you to read more and it changes your perspective about the business world and college athletics.

I would recommend it to the general public because it is an informative book. I would also recommend the book to prospective businessmen and women and those interested in college athletics and most likely those who are already occupied within these respective industries.
