Last Words From Above: Medicine For The Spirit is a non-fiction Christian book full of inspirational quotes. The author, Jeremy Brown, evidently illustrates in the introduction of the book the events that inspired him to write the text. On a quest to become a great listener, and consistently waking up at 3 a.m. just to listen, the author has compiled over two thousand individual quotes in this book. These quotes are individually listed to the very end, and the book does not contain any chapters. The quotes documented in this book bring the reader closer to comprehending what the Creator requires of them. The detailed introduction connects the reader to what is to be anticipated in the book.

When I first picked on this book, I was drawn to the fact that it contained quotes to push readers in daily living. This is an original aspect as not many editions talk of religion in such a way. Each of the topics is separately listed and numbered. This makes it easier to take note of the quotes that sound additionally appealing to the reader. Despite the book not containing chapters, associated quotes consequently follow each other and one gets related aspects more easily. The author also states that the books wisdom will still be relevant a thousand years from now. This indicates that the knowledge in the book is priceless to generations to come, and I believe that anyone who sets their hands on this book breeds themselves a rare treasure.

This book can serve as a reference book to the reader for over a long time. Reading this book creates a spiritual connection with the reader. This is the seventh book the author has written and despite the title, Last Words From Above, he states that he believes this will not be the last book he will be writing. One aspect that I didn't like about the book was the sentence structures. This aspect was not well dealt with and it makes it harder to follow up the story in an easier manner. This was however not a major setback as it was only evident in the epilogue and introduction of the book.

I rate Last Words From Above: Medicine For The Spirit 4 out of 4 stars. The negative aspect stated above was a minor one and did not greatly affect my reading of the book. I did not find any grammatical error in the book and this indicates that it was well edited and proofread.

I recommend this book to every reader who will love to get in touch with God in a more spiritual manner. Those ready to establish a lasting spiritual relationship with God will also find this book useful. The author's art of learning how to listen more will also impact many readers who want to learn this skill.
