Hope lies beyond the metallic cage of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. In the book Manifesto for a Cancer Patient by Colleen Huber, there is a demolition of myths and perceptions that have limited the progress of efficient and effective cancer treatment.

To the ordinary man of the world, the first synonymous word that comes to mind with 'cancer' is chemotherapy. In this book, Colleen Huber reveals the efficacy of naturopathic treatment, its buried relevance, and the deep rot behind the curtains of the American Medical Association. She uncovers hidden truths and replenishes forgotten knowledge of the healing properties of nature and its capability to defeat cancer. Also, she exposes the corruption of the pharmaceutical companies that are so hasty to declare patients cancer carriers, and when correct, are decisively stubborn in refusing any other treatment.

Furthermore, she explored the comparisons between cases treated the naturopathic way and with chemotherapy; the result favored naturopathic treatments. Then, she highlighted some of the herbs, vitamins, and diets used to fight the progress of the debilitating disease. The author then strikes a balance about the use of chemotherapy and insists that it should be the patient's choice.

The author wrote in a fluent first-person perspective. I appreciate that she understood her audience would not all be medical practitioners and used understandable terms and easy structures that passed the accurate message across. I commend the author for her candid and helpful words about such difficult, unsettling scenarios that may be some people's harsh reality. I appreciate her straightforwardness and the abandoned attempt of beating around the bush to the main apex of the topic.

I cannot quantify the value and knowledge I gained from this book. I am of the opinion that you do not have to be a cancer patient or medical practitioner before learning helpful tips on topics like this. As popularly quoted, no knowledge is ever wasted. The book was whole-encompassing and beautifully backed up with facts and figures. The author gave great tips, food plans, and very honest opinions. I felt her personality shone through the pages of this book.

I dislike nothing in this book. I observed a few errors that did not disrupt my reading experience. For these reasons, I rate Manifesto for a Cancer Patient 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to members of the medical field. I also recommend this to patients with this painful disease. There is a lot that would be helpful in the book, and anyone interested in natural and herbal treatments will learn from the book.
