Review of The Charisma Factor
This book didn't change my life, but I enjoyed reading it. The Charisma Factor by Leesa Rowland is a self-improvement book focused on, yes, charisma; Leesa takes a different road from some motivational books and states since the beginning the premise of her book: you have charisma already, that's the key point during her book in which she explains on 13 chapters why and how you can nourish your innherent charisma; besides, with a "7 steps guide" (I say that in branches bc there are many more steps in her book but she summarize them in the last chapter) she teaches you step by step how you can become more aware of our own charisma factor.
I liked the book, mostly bc I do agree with what Leesa Rowland states in many ways, we all have charisma within us, inherently as human beings, sometimes we just need a little push (or in this case scenario a practical step by step guide) for us to discover it and start to work on it. My favorite chapter was the one called "charisma and love" bc that was a side of charisma i never thought about and found pretty pleasurable the fact that there were multiple aspects where I could use the tips from the book; I liked how detailed and "step-by-step" it is, as well as how every chapter connects yet at the same time they function separatedly which makes the book comprehensible even if you don't read it in the order stipulated.
Having said that I must admit that in my opinion, the book lacks a more empathetic view, since a lot of situations and tips are focused on a more extroverted view of life, as well as a certain amount of priviledge within your life that sometimes made me felt pretty bored; i thought that most of the bad points that i gave to the book came from a direct difference of opinions such as her election with some role models on her chapter about that or even physical tips that i considered pretty unnecessary or blunt, so trying to be as objective as I can, there were several editorial and misspelling mistakes, as well as that the actual useful things are mainly at the end.
After some thinking I decided to give this book a 2 out of 4 stars; if 2.7 was an option I would've to go with that, there were some misspelling mistakes, as well as the grammatic in some parts makes it difficult and heavy to read sometimes which makes me think is not professional edited, in terms of a self motivational book lacks a lot since most of the book felt like fillings, thing that I found heavy and more boring than not.
If you like self-development or motivational books and you feel like you have no charisma whatsoever then this book is for you, but if youre just starting with your journey or you already know you have charisma within you then you might not enjoy it that much.
