Skye Denison grew up in the small town of Scumble River, Illinois. In high school she majored in psychology and
upon graduation, in her validictorian address, she describes the town as being full of small minded people who
have an even smaller intellect.
After being fired from her job as a School Psychologist in New Orleans, Skye must return to Scumble River.
After her arrival, much to her chagrin, she immediately becomes involved in the Chokeberry Days Festival.
Everything turns in to chaos when items in the different stalls become vandalized and controversy reigns.
Even the mayor's death is announced prematurely.
When Mrs. Gumtree, a childrens TV host from Chicago, does not appear when needed to take her place in
the town parade Skye goes to check on her only to find her dead. When police investigate they find her to
be 30 instead of the 60 years of of age that she was made up to be and her real identity to be that of Honey
Adair. Because of the way she was killed Skye's brother,Vince, has been arrested as a person of interest.
Skye finds a position as School Psychologist at the local high school and, being the typical amateur sleuth,
sets out to proove her brother's innocense. She discovers that both cources of action brings forth many pit
falls along the way. Everyone in town seems to have something to hide and Skye is determined to find out
the truhts one by one.
Denise Swanson is an author I have never read before. This is a delightful mystery and the author's
wry humor is evident on the very first page. Some lively twists and turns take place along the way with
Skye involved.I liked the book because of the characters and the fact that ven though this was a mystery
some humor could be interjected into it. I would rate it a 4 out of 4 and expect sequals.
