Love, Grandma is a children’s book written by Ann Morris. The author plucks memories from her childhood as well as from the time she spent with her granddaughters. It begins with the birth of Payton and describes the joy felt by Grandma. Her happiness knows no bounds when Haley is born. Payton, Haley and Grandma do a lot of fun things together.

The story unfolds in the form of a poem. The author uses easy words, but it never feels like she has toned down her writing for children. The rhyme flows smoothly and turns the book into a quick and breezy read. I commend its impeccable editing as I found no grammatical errors in it.

One of the things that I really like about Love, Grandma is its energy. The children are always in motion. They are playing outside, reading books, jumping, exercising, etc. I liked it because I see children glued to screens- TV, smartphones, or otherwise. The activity of the characters in the book infuses the reader with the same energy. I hope that after reading it, children will want to get up and do stuff, like Payton and Haley.

The book is all about love, and it radiates love. The beautiful illustrations by David Gnass capture the feelings of Morris’ words. They are bright and eye-catching and would certainly lure in a young reader. I don’t think there is anything unlikable about it.

My rating for Love, Grandma is 4 out of 4 stars. I immensely enjoyed reading it. While it is a children’s book, it can also be read by adults. Reading about Grandma and her granddaughters reminded me of my childhood and the time I spent with my grandparents. Some of the things in it are very relatable and nostalgic. You’ll miss your grandma after reading it.
