Plantation of Bones by Lou Dischler is a novel centered on the Le Blanc family. The book is written in the first person, present participle tense writing style, and the narration is done by three characters each telling an individual storyline according to experience. Paulie, Delilah, and Cal, all from one family.

One day Cal sneaks out of the house for some meat. On bad luck, some mennesker gave him a chase, captured, and locked him in a cage to the Carnival. After some time, Cal managed to run away from the carnival and found himself in the hands of two ex-marines, who took advantage of the situation and demanded a ramson from the Le Blanc for him after knowing that a reward was to be granted to anyone who could help with the information about his whereabouts, for the carnival men thought him to have been kidnapped. On the other hand, June, the one left in charge of Bill Henry's Prosperity Plantation, sold Cal without his knowledge when he was in the hospital. What happened when Henry was discharged? How did it go with Cal? Delilah is a beautiful young girl and talented singer. Popular and every boy's catch for a date. Unfortunately, some people didn't like her music so they said something negative about one of her songs, which ruined her career, dented her reputation, and status. Tony was the only boy who remained dating Delilah. Their relationship flourished and led to Delilah's impregnation. When Delilah became pregnant, June, told Tony to move into their house to fake a marriage between the two in hope that he will marry her after giving birth. Things went sour when Delilah called Tony a goat boy which made him leave without a word. What happened to Delilah's life? Paulie's fantasies about girls leads him to a successful transition to manhood on his 13th birthday. After a few days in his early teens, his mother arranged a date for him with Sylvania, the girl he secretly admired, and whom he and Harry had challenged themselves about who will win her over. How did it go with him? Well, give this book a read to find out.

I found this book interesting that I went on reading even when I had to attend to other things. The book is captivating. I liked how the main character expressed themselves. Especially Cal and Paulie, their stories are funny. Which at times made me laugh aloud to myself. Lou Dischler did a good job of giving more details about the featuring characters like Tony, Harry, Sylvania, and many others. Giving the reader more information about the characters' background, their occupations, and families.

The only thing that I would consider a bit disturbing to a specific audience as I did, was exceeding usage of adult language and activities in most scenes. The author also kept me limping in my knowledge of what exactly Cal was. A person, a dog, or a robot? But I got it clear as I continued reading. The cannibal story as well is on the list of what I disliked.

from not finding any serious errors, I can tell that the book was professionally edited.

I rate Plantation of Bones four out four stars, for the book was professionally edited, stories are interesting and all storylines are captivating. I couldn't find a genuine reason for deducting a star because even what I found to be an issue with me, might not be an issue to some. I recommend this book to adults fans of horror, adventure, and romance. Profane language and activities are the reason I have recommended a limited audience. Those who don't favor the said genres are allowed to skip it.
