Inca is a Siberian kitty and the head of a detective agency concerned with solving mysteries. The agency consists of various animals. Their humanoid mom, Missy, breaks the exciting news to her friend, Solo. Apparently, she has been invited by Le Cordon Bleu to assume the role of one of the judges of the French patisserie competition in South Korea. Inca eavesdrops on the conversation and then shares the news with her friends.

Missy had created a unique type of cheese, La Crème de la crème, which she would showcase during the competition. Should her cheese be recognized worldwide, her sales would improve immensely. Soon, they arrive at Incheon Airport. However, Missy cannot find the bag containing her special cheese. Has someone stolen it? Better still, who and why?

The narration is predominantly from the perspective of the Inca. As such, readers get to follow from the point of view of a kitty. Through that, I was able to know that even animals have feelings. One secret I uncovered was that even though kitties sometimes act cold toward humans, they have soft, loving hearts.

I enjoyed how Inca and her friends were willing to offer help without expecting anything in return. When Missy and the rest arrive in South Korea, her tour guide and translator accommodates them in his house courtesy of the animals. He argues pets are cozier while in a house than in a hotel room.

Kristi engages more animals as the tale goes on. Kids will love the colorful pictures included. There was nothing to despise. I only noted two errors; thus, Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is professionally edited. There’s humor in the tale, especially when Fromage brags about how he helped Missy make the best cheese in the world. When Inca can’t take the show-off anymore, she hilariously rolls her eyes. I rate the book four out of four stars. I recommend it to kids of all ages who enjoy an engaging detective tale.
