Identical teenage twin brothers Ron and Bing Slaughter with their friends and band members, Kaitlyn Krimpsen and Prathamesh Kimitri, are regular high school students of Barton High, who are aiming to pass their SATs and fulfill their dreams. However on the evening before the exam, a storm breaks out. This storm brings with it a series of peculiar events and bizarre happenings that will leave the friends wondering if the world can ever be sane again. Will they be able to face the dangers that lie ahead?

Demon Freaks by J.R.R.R (Jim) Hardison is a thrilling comical novel with a modern theme, centered on the world of the occult. The story is a unique blend of action, horror, suspense, and a distinctive tale of good versus evil. If you are a fan of paranormal novels with a comical twist, Demon Freaks is the book to read.

I loved the entire plot of each chapter of the story. The end of each page left me eager for the next one. Aside from the quirkiness of the plot, I loved how the author portrayed each character in the story. Hardison was able to capture the true bond between siblings and also between friends. The story shows how determined a person can be to save a friend in need despite all odds. In spite of the peculiar nature of the novel, the story sheds light on courage, strong will, growth and perseverance. I loved how each protagonist in the story was able to evolve from their previous selves despite the dire situations they were confronted with. I especially love the characters- Ron and Bing- as they were so determined to save their friends and face each dangerous situation head-on. This book left me with a positive impression of the writer's imagination.

I would like to commend the author on the wonderful editing of the book. I feel that the book has been professionally edited as I found no typos or errors. The book also has some comic relief which I found quite enjoyable. I would like to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. There was nothing to dislike about the book. It was a very unique and interesting read.

I would like to recommend this book to young adult and mature readers as it has some profanity, violence and gory details which I feel will be too sensitive for much younger readers.
