Take a seat, and settle in because once you start reading this book, you're likely to become addicted to it just as strongly as the addiction that once coursed through the author's veins.

Chasing a Flawed Sun is an intense, true story about the life of the author: Daniel McGhee. In this book, Daniel walks you through almost a decade of his life through the drug infested streets of Maryland. All while fighting eternal demons and extreme guilt. He tells a tempestuous story involving extreme binge drinking, overdose, attempted suicide, and heroin use that has him knocking on death's door.

How does Daniel overcome this horrific life? Read Chasing a Flawed Sun to find out!

From the very beginning, I was fascinated with this book! For starters, Daniel is so elaborate when describing the characters, places, and even his own emotions in this story that you feel as if you're walking hand in hand with him and experiencing it in one's own person.

Another thing I enjoyed was the rush of different emotions I felt throughout the story. This novel will draw you in from the start and will have you experiencing an array of heartfelt emotions such as; rage, relief, disgust, disappointment, and happiness throughout the book and will have your mind imploring for you to read more.

Furthermore, I was touched by how much Daniel appears to care about and reach out to his readers. It feels as if he is talking to you personally and really wanting you to understand the depth of his remorse, along with why he did what he did, and immensely wants you to hear his story.

It was challenging to find anything I disliked about Daniel's book. If I absolutely had to say something, it would be that he repeated sentences, and there wasn't much paraphrasing. However, this detail helps you recall past events, and he keeps it relevant with the story. Therefore, it is not bothersome.

Ultimately, I give Chasing a Flawed Sun 4 out of 4 stars. The story was captivating and inspiring, and there was never a dull moment.

I recommend this book to readers that enjoy indulging in books filled with action and raw emotion. I also recommend this book to anyone that may relate to the struggles and torture an addict experiences. Or anyone that may have a loved one that is currently in this vicious cycle. This book will not disappoint you.
