I’m sure, just like me, some of you may have looked at the title of the book and thought amusing to yourself, “what about Randy that is so irresistible?”, if the title alone did not hook you as it did me, then stick around because this review just might (proceeds with an exaggerated wink).

The book, Randy the Irresistible, by S M Goodier, is about a free-spirited young man called Randy who we the readers observe as he goes through life trying to figure out “adulthood”. He experiences what it is like in the “real world” as many of us have or will, balancing work, romantic relations (I say ‘romantic relations’ because I could not quite bring myself to call what Randy’s relationships are ‘love’), friends, and family. It also sometimes gives us the viewpoints of other characters in the story.

I found the main character, Randy, to be charming in the way that he almost always seems to have a positive outlook on his life, though, I could not tell whether that came from naivety, or simply self-absorption. He is ambitious to an extent, at least when it comes to work, but carefree – Selfish – nature does him more harm than good. Though, if you think my description is all you need to know about or alluring protagonist, then you are mistaken because the most important part is that he…actually, no, I simply cannot give you any spoilers, such matters need research on your part, and by research, I mean reading the book on your own. It is an enjoyable book that had me, on occasion, laughing, either from amusement or in worry for the character.

There is nothing I inherently dislike about the book; if you are looking for a book with depth then this may not be it, but if you are looking for something light-hearted then it's your lucky day. The author simply tries to portray his viewpoint of a young man through a character like Randy and also experiences modern society the way he experiences it.

The book, Randy the Irresistible, was an amazing read and had me wanting more. Furthermore, grammatical errors were not easily noticeable; it was reasonably clear and easy to read; hence, I would say that the book is professionally edited, and rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

It has some strong language, as well as indications of sexual acts, hence, may not be suitable for underage readers, or those that dislike books of such a nature in general. However, if you are one that does not mind a bit of spice, then I would enthusiastically recommend that you give the book a try. I am sure Randy would have absolutely no doubts that you would love a book about him.
