Review of Happiness is All We Want!
Happiness is All We Want! by Ashutosh Mishra is a non-fiction book. It is a self-help book that aims to assist anyone in their internal development journey. It's divided into three main parts; the mind, a healthy body, and the soul. The topics covered are things people undergo or struggle with daily.
Mishra provides solutions for issues like anger management, giving out examples of what worked for him or his friends and family. He gives a realistic approach to life circumstances and how we can maneuver and manage this without breaking the bank or causing so much discomfort to ourselves. He emphasizes starting small on these lifestyle changes and increasing with time.
I loved the topic of calming techniques for well-being. The author states some mechanisms like yoga and meditation. My favorite one was meditation because it is simple to do and does not require much time or so much effort. He outlines the many benefits of practicing meditation daily. He encourages readers to meditate at least five minutes a day before advancing to lengthy periods. He reasons that it is better to do a little of something than not do it at all.
I liked the topic of anger management. The author gives a personal experience and shares ways one can control their anger. A lot of people never realize they have pent-up anger inside them. This anger can affect how they relate to other people and lead to a vicious cycle. He states the importance of learning to control one's mind to have a better outlook on life.
I liked the author's use of figurative language. He refers to the human body as a horse or a donkey. Many people treat their bodies as a donkey who are overworked, not fed properly, don't receive proper grooming, and lack sufficient care. He advises readers that, through regular self-care activities, one can become more like a horse. The author also gives these Smart Well-being Capsule, SWC, are simple tips and techniques that a person can follow for better self-being.
There is absolutely nothing that I disliked about the book.
I rate the book a 4 out of 4 stars. I believe the book has been professionally edited. I only noticed one typo, which did not hinder my enjoyment of the book. The book is easy to read as it is short and precise. It is informative and easy to understand as the author has used simple language. I also did not encounter any profanity while reading the book.
I recommend this book to readers interested in the science of well-being. This book is suitable for a person who wants to make positive changes in their lifestyle as it provides the techniques one can implement for a healthier well-being.
