EMP Honeymoon is an entertaining story about newly weds Tom and Kelly Turbulo who are on honeymoon in Honduras. While on a shopping excursion Kelly accidentally stumbles upon a terrorist cell. Cunningly she manages to evade their pursuit and frantically calls her brother, State Senator Mike McBride to tell him of her discovery. In this excitingly paced and very well researched novel the newlyweds are soon joined by a team of McBride's personnel and a charismatic CIA agent. Team USA, as the group fondly refers to themselves, soon uncover a plot to launch an ballistic missile into the heart of the USA from their holiday island.

Dorothy May Mercer has an incredible talent for writing characters that have the kind of depth which makes you feel as though you have known them for a lifetime. She cleverly and rather amusingly has written her opposing leaders, the in-your-face President of the United States and the maniacal dictator of North Korea to resemble two of today's real life leaders.

I enjoyed virtually everything about this novel, it was an easy read, yet it kept me well entertained from the first page. The technical details across the board were all thoroughly researched by the author with references to her sources listed at the end of the book. The characters were believable and the plot was very realistic, leaving the reader with something to ponder.

The only negative comment I could possibly have about this book would be that I found one or two of the dialogs to be a little immature. Also, the rocket images at the end of every chapter in the digital version, I found a little childish.

Perfectly edited and professionally written I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. An enjoyable read for anyone who likes a good adventure story that is not too heavy.
