Hemingway's Daughter is the story of the fictional daughter of the great writer and journalist Earnest Hemingway by Christine M. Whitehead. The story revolves around the father-daughter bond of Finley and Earnest Hemingway. Finley has three dreams to achieve in her life, first, to get a place in her father's writing because that is the most important thing to him, second, to make a career in law, which seems quite difficult in the time frame given, and third, to find true love, for which she will have to break the curse on her family, that is love always ends for Hemingway's and that too, badly. Will she able to achieve all these goals?

In the novel, the facts and dates are given accurately and the author has done a great job in taking the story of the fictional characters other than Finley Hemingway like Jeddrah( Finley's friend), parallelly along with other story lines and. The whole story is woven together in such a manner that everything seems relatable and connecting the fictional things to the real ones. She has struggled half of her life to have a special place in her father's heart.

It discusses the work space environment for women in the given time frame, the time after world war 2, the struggles they had to go through. Also, the life of Earnest Hemingway has been shown through the eyes and perspective of his fictional daughter which is something new and the author has done a commendable job in that.

I find the novel to be well edited, although I found some minor errors but that does not seems to be any hinderance while reading. Although, in almost every aspect I loved the story but I think, when the story leads ahead, some characters are lagged behind where they should have been of a little more importance. For example, the character of Jeddrah was not shown with any or much involvement at the time of the death of Finley's father. Other than that, I do not find anything to dislike in the novel.

I rate this story four out of four stars because I loved how the author has made this fictional character of Finley Hemingway go along with the real events so well and the whole novel is commendable. the editing is also well done. I would recommend this book to anyone above the age of 16, as there are some sexual scenes but they are not not offending the limits and are not profane.
