Butterfly Awakens by Meg Nocero is an autobiography that focuses on Meg's sadness and efforts to get back up when her mother died.

Meg Nocero is a government employee in America. She is married and has children, and her relationship with her mother is very close. One day while she was working, she received a call from her mother who told her that her mother had breast cancer. Meg was in shock about this, but she continued to cheer on her mother with the first doctor to treat her. She accompanied her mother who was finally treated by a second doctor. But in the end, her mother had to die. Meg was very sad about it. She had experienced depression and had to go through therapy in various places to treat her sadness.

One thing that caught my attention the most in this novel is the one quote that I enjoyed, namely when Meg spoke to her mother when she was very desperate after finding out that her first doctor could not give her any hope in life. Meg said “You're the only one in charge of your healing. You can't give your power away. You can't give your hope away when it's all you have. Faith is what allows for miracles.” Words like these make a deep impression on me because they are very uplifting when we are in a situation that makes us depressed.

There are no points I don’t like about this book. Everything that happened in Meg's life when she was left to die by her mother could happen to anyone. Not everyone has the same ability to face the reality when someone or several people they love are left behind. Things experienced like Meg are very natural and real if someone has been hit by depression and is trying to get up from grief. Meg gives a metaphorical term in her life like a butterfly because it transforms, just like a cocoon turns into a butterfly.

I will give 4 out of 4 stars for this novel. This novel seems professionally edited. I only found one grammar error in this novel. The language used is very easy to understand. The arrangement and sequence of the story are also well made so that readers can follow Meg's life journey clearly. I would recommend this book to those who are experiencing sadness, depression, want to rise from grief, and are dealing with the loss of someone very close to them.
