I’m not going to lie, I was a little intimidated to read this book. Subject matter involving religion and science is always going to be a complex read. Due to my natural curiosity and the desire to challenge myself, I thought I’d give this book a try. The Biblical Clock by Daniel Friedmann and Dania Sheldon ended up blowing my mind. It is something that I will never regret reading.

Throughout the book the authors explore the writings and history of different sages, prophets, biblical commenters, and more. The authors write about these people throughout history in order to compare and contrast their biblical findings to scientific findings. By doing this, they make a connection between the two in order to demonstrate their aligned contributions to the development of the universe. As most of us know, the creation of our universe has been a question since the beginning of time. This is a book that has an abundance of information collected over long periods of time. The authors take on many perspectives from analogies involving jean pants to analysis of the Cambrian explosion.

Despite the advanced vocabulary used in this book, it was a very smooth read for me. I could not put this book down! The writing style of the authors kept me captivated and wanting to know more. Each chapter felt like a piece to a very intriguing puzzle. Due to the vast amounts of information provided in this book, I was able to personally understand more about the topic. I feel way more educated about this topic now than I did before reading this book. It makes me want to dive into more books from this genre! I especially enjoyed the introductions in every chapter. They paint a picture of the time periods taking place, as well as the people who are being mentioned. It is a pleasant mix of information and story-telling.

If I had to mention a negative aspect it would be that it wasn’t long enough. It is a lot of information packed into a small number of pages and it would have been nice to have more elaboration in some chapters. With that being said, this is still a very detailed book.

I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4. There were no noticeable errors, it was an easy read, informational, and just flat out fascinating! I definitely recommend this to young adult readers who have general biblical and scientific knowledge.
