Review of Man Mission
In this book, titled Man Mission by Eytan Uliel, four friends resolve to go on adventures to different locations every year. This book is an account of their journeys. It features travel, adventure, brotherhood, family, and love.
Sonny, Sam, Daniel, and Alec are four friends who have come a long way together and have shared many memories. They decided to build more memories by embarking on trips to different locations. Sam and Sonny named it, and they became the pioneers of this mission. The book narrates their ordeals and experiences. The four friends began their trip in New Zealand and continued to Japan, Australia, Spain, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa, the U.S., and Iceland. At these places, they build unforgettable memories. Read about them in this book.
I rate this book four out of four stars for its excellent structure, characterization, and rich plot. The author wrote the book in the first-person narrative, which made it seem like I was listening to a tale from my grandfather. I loved how the book was structured. Each chapter begins with a quote and a Bible verse. It set the pace for that chapter. Each chapter represents a mission, and at the end of each chapter, comprehensive statistics show an overview of their experiences on that particular trip. The author also put vital phrases and sentences in italics. It made the story easier to understand and easier to read.
The author included maps and illustrations in the book. It helped create pictorial images in the reader’s mind, and I also got to join them on their adventure through the map. The narrator was nerdy and bookish, unlike most of his friends. The characters were well developed, and they were humorous. I could not hide my laughter as I saw the things they needed for the trip to South Africa. The writing style also contributed to my laughter. There was no dull moment while reading this book.
There was nothing to dislike about this book. I loved how the maps were thought-provoking and educational. The friendship among the four men was admirable. My favourite part of this book would be when the author charged the readers in the epilogue. He emphasized taking charge and writing your own life. Their journey to South Africa was exciting and filled with fear and laughter. The book was also professionally edited as I found only a single minor error that a re-editing would fix.
I recommend this book to lovers of travelogues and adventures. Individuals could also read this book to get ideas on a trip. It was an exciting read.
