Review of Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (French Edition)
Peter Liptak wrote this book for ESL learners. As a French-speaking person who is actively learning the English language, it will do you some good to learn a bit about American culture and speech. It is not unheard of that they use a lot of idioms in their conversations. Idiom Attack Everyday Living Vol. 1 (French Edition) is a book that will give you a peek into the culture of these people. It is divided into 25 chapters and contains over 300 idioms that you can use in your everyday life. These can be used at work, with friends, in schools, etc. Peter Liptak explained these idioms in the simplest way he could. That is not all. He also included lots of questions and exercises that will challenge your mind. The sweet spot here is that he translated everything into the French language.
Each chapter in the book has its theme. For example, the first chapter has idioms related to the morning. Other chapters tell you what idioms you can use at work, in the afternoon, at a social gathering, and many others. I appreciated this kind of arrangement because it stopped me from mixing things up and getting confused.
In the summary of the book, I mentioned questions and exercises. The thing is, these are not ordinary questions that take just any form. These questions were placed there as a form of homework to help you see if you understood Peter Liptak’s teachings. This is good because it showed me where I needed to improve my ability to use idioms. These questions motivated and challenged me. They made me want to know more. I loved them the most in the whole book.
I want to give this book the highest rating I am allowed to give it. The main reason for this strong desire is my absolute love for it. I did not find anything I disliked about it. It is perfect in my eyes. Peter Liptak taught me things I never knew I needed. I liked everything in it. The editors edited it more than professionally. They did it exceptionally well. The translation into French made it easy for me to digest some of the information here. Now I know exactly how to say these idioms in French and English. I rate Idiom Attack Everyday Living Vol. 1 (French Edition) four out of four stars.
I highly recommend Idiom Attack Everyday Living Vol. 1 (French Edition) to anybody that wants to understand and learn a lot of American idioms. It does not get better than this. The great thing about this book is that teachers and students can read and understand everything. So, it can be read by old and young readers alike, regardless of profession. Lastly, this edition of the book was translated into French, which means that the author’s target readers are people that speak French.
