The Resurrectionist by E. B. Hudspeth spoliers allowed

Post by JVa1encia »

I just picked this book up at the library and where to begin? Well, I picked it up because of the cover: a human skeleton with bird feet and wing bones got my attention. I opened the book flap and liked what I read: "What if the world's most celebrated mythological beasts...were in fact the evolutionary ancestors of humankind?" and "...the mysterious disappearance at the end of his life" hooked me. As the young scientist prodigy searches for soul-satisfying answers only a madman would ask, he never considers his own madness. These tidbits made me think of Mary Shelley 's Frankenstein, which I enjoyed reading, and that gave me a fair idea of what would await within the pages. I was not disappointed! If you like Gray's Anatomy, Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, and a smidge of Lovecraft this is a scary-good read. The first half of the book adds a fun creepiness to the second half. I won't forget this book any time soon!
